Ramadan charity project: digitalisation of learning centres in Malaysia
The Kuala Lumpur-based Ideas Academy is active in improving and raising the standard of education. This time, we joined forces on a project aimed at digitising 1,012 learning centres for refugees and underprivileged students in Malaysia to help advance their education.
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) acted as an official partner to communicate with and select the learning centres that are most in need of our help. The selected centres lack the necessary software and structured curriculums that could significantly improve the quality of education and contribute to students’ academic success.
As one of the project’s sponsors, we contributed to providing the centres with two-year access to a school management system, a gamified learning platform, ‘Google for Education’ services, and a structured online curriculum from Ideas Academy. The equipping process is currently ongoing.
In addition to digitalising the learning centres, together with Ideas Academy, we held a financial literacy workshop for underprivileged students. Our webinar speaker Gero Azrul conducted it to provide students with basic knowledge of personal finance that they can use to improve their financial situation. The students loved it and were actively engaged. The workshop was also filmed to be included in the online learning platform.
We want to thank all our traders for their activity during Ramadan. Each lot you traded from 22 March to 20 April added 0.1 USD to our charity fund. Without you, this and other charity initiatives would not have been possible.
We would also like to thank Ideas Academy for our common efforts and look forward to further collaborations.
