NZD/USD Price Forecast: Rises to near 0.5850 despite fading bullish bias

  • NZD/USD pair may fall toward the five-month low of 0.5680.
  • The 14-day Relative Strength Index near 48 signals weakening bullish momentum, not oversold conditions.
  • Key resistance is seen at the medium-term average around 0.5859.

NZD/USD gains ground after two days of losses, trading around 0.5840 during the European hours on Thursday. The technical analysis of the daily chart signals an emerging bearish bias as the pair remains below the ascending channel.

The NZD/USD pair holds below both the nine-day and 50-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), which keeps the near-term bias tilted to the downside.

The NZD/USD pair has recently retreated from the 0.5900 area, and the 14-day Relative Strength Index around 48 suggests fading bullish momentum rather than outright oversold conditions, hinting that sellers still retain a modest structural advantage while upside attempts are likely to be capped by nearby moving average resistance.

On the downside, the NZD/USD pair may navigate the region around the five-month low of 0.5680.

The primary resistance lies at the medium-term average at 0.5859, aligned with the short-term average of 0.5865. A rebound above these averages would lead the NZD/USD pair back to the ascending channel, reviving the bullish bias. The pair may further explore the area around 0.6094, the highest since July 2025, which was reached on January 29, followed by the upper boundary of the ascending channel around 0.6120.
