Wall Street closes its fifth straight positive week

The US stocks market closed Friday with gains and posting its 5th straight positive week on the back of positive news from unemployment report and ISM and PMI indexes and a good week in terms of corporate earnings.

The Dow Jones finished the day above 14,000 for first time since October 12, 2007 following a 149.21 or 1.08% daily gain to 14,009.79. The DJIA advanced 0.82% on the week.

The S&P 500 extended gains above 1,500 with 15.06 points or 1.01% daily advance to 1,513.17. The S&P closes the week 0.68% higher. The Nasdaq Composite added 36.97 points or 1.18% to finish at 3,179.10. 0.93% weekly gains.

Forex: GBP/USD erases weekly gains

The Cable came under strong pressure during the New York session Friday, and having dropped over 160 pips throughout the day and broken several support levels, it recently printed a low of 1.5706.

Forex: Bulls slam bears and put the EUR/USD at 1.3700

Following a short-lived dip to the 1.3585 zone, the EUR/USD bounces fiercely and managed to break above the 1.3675 area to hit a fresh 14-month high of 1.3710. Bulls retook the control on the pair and currently the EUR/SUD is closing at 1.3640, just in consolidation mode.
