US shares are inching higher on Tuesday, after blue-chips’ earnings reports exceeded expectations and a better tone in the European markets. The greenback, measured by the US Dollar Index, is a tad lower around the mid 79.00, although this area acted as a strong support so far.
At the moment, DowJones is up 0.78%, ahead of the S&P500 and the Nasdaq, gaining 0.96% and 1.09%, respectively.
Markets in Europe recovered from yesterday’s negative session and posted solid gains on Tuesday, led by the IBEX35, up 2.2% and seconded by the DAX and the FTSE100, advancing 0.95% and 0.585, respectively. After dipping to the area around 1.3460, the single currency has well managed to recover ground and climb to levels shy of 1.3600, printing fresh highs at the same time.
In the commodities front, the barrel of WTI is losing 0.72% at $96.80 while the ounce troy of gold is gaining 0.67% at $1673
