AUD/USD posts highest weekly close since December

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The Australian dollar was among the best performers during the week and versus the US dollar posted the highest weekly close since early December. The AUD/USD finished 70 pips above Monday’s opening price, trading at 0.9080/90 supported by RBA minutes, economic data and risk appetite.

On Friday the pair rose more than 50 pips erasing most of the losses that followed the FOMC statement and Yellen press conference, extending the recovery after bottoming on Thursday at 0.8996.

Before dropping to the 0.9000 zone the AUD/USD rose to 0.9138, reaching the highest price in three months. Then came the FED and the rebound at 0.9000.
