Forex: EUR/USD steady after ECB decision, Draghi eyed

The shared currency remained quite steady against the dollar after the European Central Bank decided to keep its interest rate unchanged at 0.75%, as widely expected.

EUR/USD barely moved after the announcement and it is currently quoting at the 1.3560 zone, still recording a 0.3% gain on the day. In terms of technical levels, the Mataf.net team locates next resistances at 1.3575, 1.3600 and 1.3635, while supports are seen at 1.3535, 1.3490 and 1.3460.

Investors will now be closely watching ECB President presser at 13:30GMT, where Draghi will explain the council's decisions.

EMU: ECB keeps refi rate at 0.75% in February, Draghi speaks at 13:30 GMT

The February 7 meeting came to the decision of keeping rates unchanged: the main refinancing operations and the interest rates on the marginal lending facility and the deposit facility will remain unchanged at 0.75%, 1.50% and 0.00% respectively. The ECB monetary policy announcement and Mario Draghi's press conference are due at 13:30 GMT.
